September 13, 2010 a deaf mission team departed for Kiev, Ukraine to help rebuild the deaf Bible school mission center. The team members were from Kentucky and all deaf. The members were Brian Cross, Chuck Whitlow, Lenny West, and Tim Bender. They left Louisville, Kentucky and flew to Chicago then to Munich, Germany.

September 14, 2010 --  they arrived in Kiev and met Oleg Stralkovskij, director of the Light of Hope Bible school and mission center, at the airport.

September 15, 2010 -- the team did construction work preparing lumber with axes and shovels.

September 16, 2010 -- they did more construction preparation. That night the team went to a deaf Bible study in Kiev.

September 17, 2010 -- the team did construction work and attended Bible study at the Bible school-mission center.

September 18, 2010 -- it was a rainy day. The team could not do much construction. The outdoor picnic for the team and Bible school students that afternoon was moved indoors at the school.

September 19, 2010 -- the team attended deaf Bible study and morning worship with the hearing church at Revival Baptist Church. Tim Bender, pastor of Louisville Baptist Deaf Church, preached to the hearing and deaf that morning. Brian Cross, pastor of Bluegrass Deaf Mission in Lexington, Kentucky, preached to the deaf church that afternoon.

September 20, 2010 -- builders from southwest Ukraine arrived. Tim and Oleg met with the head builder, architect, and deacon to discuss the plans for rebuilding.

September 21, 2010 -- the team did construction work with the builders. They did lots of dipping heavy lumber in fire and insect retardant chemical.

September 22, 2010 -- they did more construction work until 4:00 pm. They went to a deaf Bible study in Boyarka that night.

September 23, 2010 -- they did construction with the builders all day.

September 24, 2010 -- the team took a break from construction to attend a deaf wedding in Rivino in west Ukraine with Oleg’s family and students. They stayed overnight at a church there.

September 25, 2010 -- they attended the wedding in the morning and a long reception that afternoon with lots of good Ukraine food. That evening they take a bus back to Kiev.

September 26, 2010 -- the team attended the deaf Bible study and Harvest Day events with the hearing church at Revival Baptist Church. That evening the team packed for the trip back to America. Most of the team stayed up all night,

September 27, 2010 -- the team took the 5:30 am flight to Frankfurt, Germany and then to Newark, New Jersey. The team finally arrived in Louisville, Kentucky that night at 10:30 pm. The team learned much and enjoyed being with our Ukrainian brothers and sisters during the trip.

Chuck Whitlow   4 Deaf Kentuckians went home on Sept. 27. The Deaf Ukraine church needs more financing to finish the roof....

On October 1, 2010 from Tim Bender via Oleg:  Ready for the windows and roofing. Somehow, Lord willing, we need to collect $5,000 to $6,000 to get the windows in and roof on by snow fall. It has already began to rain.

  Hello Brothers and Sisters,

We thank you for your prayers. God has helped us to rebuild of Bible Deaf School.

It will be already fast, the roof is almost ready.

We need to make the roof and windows.

Starting October 1st, in Ukraine the weather turn colder, with possible early snow.

To us the finance has come to an end.

Pray, that we could make a roof and windows - with more financings.

In Christ,

Brother Oleg
