Welcome!

Greetings from ASBID!  We have just returned from a great week at the Southern Baptist Conference of the Deaf and the Association of Southern Baptist Interpreters for the Deaf at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri.  Thanks to Mary High and her program committee for the great workshops and leadership.

During that week, I was elected Chair of ASBID.  I am happy to be able to serve in this position again.  I served as chair sometime in the 1990s and the Lord has called me to serve again.  There is a great slate of officers who have stepped up to take the lead in planning next year’s activities. If you have any suggestions for topics, speakers or any other aspects of ASBID offerings for next year, please let us know.

Thanks to the Interpreter Coordinator, Doyle Sneed, and the Deaf-Blind Interpreter Coordinator, Beth Cross, for their hard work this past conference. Thanks also to all of the interpreters who gave of their time to serve the Lord in this manner making the activities and worship experiences accessible to all attendees.

Please pray about attending next year’s conference and what place the Lord would have in store for you.

“Serve the Lord with gladness, come before His presence with singing.”

Psalm 100:2
