SBCD Commissioning Service for Deaf Affinity Missionaries - Toccoa, Georgia |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Once each year, on behalf of
Southern Baptists, IMB appoints a group of men and women to serve as
missionaries to the Deaf Peoples of the world. These missionaries will work
with the Deaf Affinity and will be deployed to areas of the world where we
don’t have any evangelistic work among the Deaf. This year the
IMB Trustees have unanimously approved six men and women to serve
with the Deaf Affinity. These missionaries
will be trained to use a storying strategy to reach and disciple the Deaf.
They will learn how to lead Deaf in other countries to group together as a
church body.

Southern Baptists missionaries being appointed in 2011 are listed below.
They are listed by their pseudonyms. Pseudonymns are being used in place of
their real names because internet communication (e.g. email) is often a
security risk for our missionaries. |

Following the service will be a fellowship where folks can meet the
missionaries. We would like to ask you to encourage your church to come to
this special event! The appointment service of missionaries is one of the
most profound and meaningful events! This is historic and it is being held
in Dallas, Texas! It would mean so much to the missionaries to look out in
the audience and see hundreds of Deaf supporting them! A section will be
reserved for the Deaf and we hope to fill it with 200! Help us? It is so
important to show our SBC Leadership and Trustees that your church strongly
supports missions. |
