South Asia - 7.8 Million Deaf

There is a great need for the gospel of Jesus among the Deaf of South Asia. This summer a DWS team of Southern Baptist Deaf Students will be going to a city where there are Muslim Deaf who have no knowledge of Jesus.

The team will be led by a Deaf couple, Toby* & Elisa*. They need $5,000. Friends have contributed $2000 - they need $3,000 more.

Pray, and if the Lord is impressing on your heart this mission need then e-mail Toby at tobiashershey@gmail.com.

DWS (Deaf World Shake) is a Student Mission Program of the IMB!

Countdown to SBCD Retreat on July 21, 2012:

This is the story of a young deaf orphan who at the age of seven years is adopted by an American couple, both of whom are skilled users of Sign Language, and who grows into a beautiful young woman.  With God’s Hand of Favor placed on Nori, she journeys all the way to Gallaudet University where today she is a member of the Senior class.  The book can be purchased from the Publisher, AuthorHouse, at www.authorhouse.com OR at Barnes and Noble.  As Dr. Charles “Chip” Penland said in his tribute “May God use this book to challenge each of us to answer His call and show His love in a world that is in such desperate need”. The cost of the book is $24.99.  Book royalties go to Happy Hands Christian School for the Deaf (Manos Felices) in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
